Students will be working on their colony project. It will be due at the start of class Friday. Each group is expected to draft a proposal to their potential investor, Mr. Merulla. The proposal is intended to convince their potential investor to fund their colony in the New World. Their proposal must include how they plan to turn a profit, provide for food, water and shelter, ensure security, create a system of government, and have a working relationship with the Native Americans in the area. In addition, they must create a map of the colony, including a scale bar. Each member of the group will earn his or her grade, based on his or her contributions to the project. There are no group grades in my class. Each group will present its proposal to the class. Presentations will be Friday. The project is worth 50 points.
